Who's Better? Texans or Colts?

The Facts
The AFC South may be interesting this year, usually we see the colts 4-0 this time of the year. That is not the case of course and they are currently tied for last in the division with the Jags and Titans. This leaves one team left not tied with a 2-2 record, this of course being the Houston Texans. The Texans are 3-1 and appear to be one of the leagues super bowl contenders, or not? The problem I see with the Texans is that their defense currently ranks dead last in the league. This D allows and average 25.5 points a game and 408 yards total offense. Now on the other hand, their rival the colts are ranked 24th in the league for overall defense. The colts only allow opposing offenses an average of 23 points and 367 yards a game. In conclusion their defenses are shit. Now I feel bad for the 49ers now being 0-4 but having a better defense then both the Colts and the Texans. So, their defenses having nothing to do with their success, this means it must be their offenses. Let me mention that Arian Foster is currently in his 2nd season in the NFL. I say this by reason, well, he might just be extremely incredible in years to come. But, is the Texans offense good enough to win over the colts for a division title? The Texans are ranked 2nd in the league for total offense, averaging 27 points and 415.5 yards per game. The colts are a close 3rd in the league for total offense, averaging 29.2 {more than the Texans(LOL)} and 411 yards per game. As inferred the Texans have a (so far to be) amazing running back, Arian Foster. Arian very much carries the ground game on his back getting virtually no assistance from the useless Steve Slaton. The Colts have a similar situation, accept the fact Joseph Addai is not nearly as good as Foster but decent enough to win. The Texans ground game is better than the colts but the air game is very close and needs to be decided on ones personal opinion. Before we get to the passing game let me inform you that both teams have sensational quarter backs, Texans having Matt Schaub and Colts having the incredible (perhaps best of all time) Peyton Manning. Enough said on that. The Colts receiving core consist of Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie and the great Dallas Clark. Arguably the leagues best receiving core, and they currently rank 2nd in the league reviving. The Texans on the other hand rank 8th in the league reviving with targets, Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter and Owen Daniels. Both teams have the ability to strike deep and annihilate defenses.

The Verdict
To me it is a clear and cut decision to chose the Colts. My reasoning is partially because of winning, in recent years the Colts have been known to win; especially since they had a super bowl appearance last season. Houston to this point has no legacy, so they have no edge in this category. The biggest reason why I pick the Colts over the Texans is the minor deity, Peyton Manning. He is known to some as the smartest and greatest quarterback the game has ever seen. With one Super Bowl MVP already he has the edge over Schaub's capabilities. Don't get me wrong, both of these teams are playoff bound. I just see the Colts as more convincing and able to win games, therefore take their division.

Minor Deity, Peyton Manning
